gender and homosexuality will always be at odds with each other and the idea that sexuality is based on gender is homophobic in and of itself bc gender is a heterosexual concept. stop confusing and traumatising gay youth bc you want to be “inclusive”. the fact that some of you would go as far as saying sexual orientation is a social construct rather than admitting that it’s actually based on SEX is so telling. your homophobia jumped out.

Gender is in direct contradiction with homosexuality and it saddens me to see homosexuals support gender politics just because they think adding a few more stupid pretentiously names genders will fix everything.
I’m glad I’ve finally seen someone put this as eloquently as OP because it’s so true. Gay people have always gone against the grain of societal gender roles, but our identities as homosexuals has never been solely defined by this. Instead, they are defined by our same sex attraction regardless of what gender had to say. This is something heterosexuals and most of society has always struggled to understand. Why would a lesbian date a “masculine” woman instead of a man? Because our attraction is based on sex, not gender presentation (which, if anything, is a secondary preference). Why would a lesbian date another female instead of a male who looks/talks/acts like a woman? Same answer. And, despite its simplicity, people continue to misunderstand. Gender has never helped homosexuals, and even to this day it’s just another thing used to try and choke us out of existence.
